Lacking Passion

I may lack passion and many art skills,

But I really want to draw, and so I will.

I enjoy my sketches no matter how bad,

I'm absorbed and draw happily in my sketchpad.

Hello Friends! Do you always feel passionate about drawing? I don't feel particularly passionate all the time. And there are a lot of techniques and art skills that I lack. Happily, this no longer bothers me.

I can draw whether I feel passionate or not. I like sketching with the materials that I do have and at whatever skill level I'm at. I'd rather sketch than be concerned whether or not I'm passionate or skillful enough.

I enjoy going with Al to a neighborhood park and sketching. We often bring deli sandwiches with us. I love eating! Honestly, I think that my favorite activity is eating. Anyway, after finishing our delicious sandwiches, I look around waiting for something to click or inspire me or make me smile. Then I sketch. Once I get started sketching, I get very absorbed in what I'm doing, and that feels great. Almost as great as eating!

So, my suggestion is to not let lack of passion or lack of skills prevent us from drawing.
