Judging My Sketches

In the past and sometimes now,

I compare and judge my sketches as foul.

I must let go of judging and comparing,

On the process of art making, it has no bearing.

We are wonderful human beings and artists regardless of how far along the art path we are. May we keep happily sketching as often as possible.

I reset my priorities to let drawing be play,

And allow myself to explore and find my own way.

I inhale deeply and take a fresh start,

Relaxed in my body, I draw from my heart.

I draw and breathe easily and then I smile,

And continue drawing from my heart for quite a while.
